Historic Hidalgo County Jail – Edinburg

This building is now part of the Edinburg Museum and is part of nice looking group of buildings and grounds sitting across from the current courthouse. Our friend Dora said that her dad told her of coming down to the courthouse to watch hangings. The hangings occurred out of door located in the tower.  After reading the historical plaque, I found there was only one hanging – so maybe that didn’t really happen.
