Post, TX

Return to the Garza County Courthouse

Post is a very active county seat (not all of the county seats in this area of Texas can say that).  It has an interesting history – having been founded by the cereal king – C W Post.  There’s a statue of him in front of the County Courthouse.  Like many other towns in this part of Texas – the main street is paved with brick.  This is an old railroad town – so it’s no surprise the highlight here was the old train station.  An art deco beauty – with lots of trains whizzing by.
