Murals of the Panhandle

Murals came in different forms.  Probably the most common sight in the small towns of the Panhandle was the murals painted in the windows of closed buildings.  This gives a feeling of use and history.  Other murals were promotions – like Lubbock, Quitaque and Coca Cola.  And then there were some mosaics.  There were some wonderful mosaic murals outside the library in Levelland.  One thing I’ve missed through our Texas travels, is the posy office murals done back in the 30’s and 40’s.  Oh well, that’s another journet for another day.
