What a great little town. Slaton is not the county seat – it’s located in Lubbock County and so it cedes that designation to Lubbock. Aside from that, this is a nice spot to spend a day or two. It’s close to Lubbock, and yet is its’ own place – with the Slaton Bakery, the Harvey House and the Model Railroad Station, we had plenty to do. Slaton is first and foremost a railroad time which makes it a special town.
