Cadiz

return to Spain

Once again, like the Azores, I was floored by the next stop – Cadiz. This is an amazing city. It is the oldest inhabited city in all of SE Europe. The cathedral was truly magnificent, and the views from the Torre Tavira were spectacular. In fact, Cadiz has well over a hundred such towers, as in medieval times, they were used to watch for attackers from the sea. The Oratorio de la Santa Cueva contained paintings over entry ways done by Goya. In fact, there marvels everywhere you turned in this city. The only issue was there was so little time to take it in. But there was no missing the narrow streets of this unique city.
