Foard County Courthouse

County seat – Crowell
Built – 1910
Style – Texas Renaissance
Arcitect – McDonald Bros.
Photos taken – 10/20/16

To me – not terribly exciting.  The interior did have some nice touches – with very solid iron railings – some light fixtures.  The courtroom had the original gallery seating.  There was a stone monument in front of the courthouse that makes interesting reading.  Evidently, the town was wiped out by a tornado in the early 1940’s.  The courthouse suffered extensive damage and was reconstructed in 1942.
