Impressions/storyline (this courthouse has been renovated and we rephotographed – see La Salle Revisited)

I found this courthouse to be interesting. It had a lot of added elements – and colorful, decoration. Eagles over the door – and the initials LS (LaSalle) on plates all around the building. The decorations are in yellow/gold and green. Seems to represent art deco to a nice degree. This is possibly one of the better examples of art deco highlights in the state (with the possible exception of Jefferson County).  I’ve noticed on the Texas historical Commission’s website that the courthouse seems to be in line for restoration.  I hope so.  It has a great position on top of a hill overlooking Cotulla.  It has great highlights and decoration.  Restoration could well make this courthouse a must-see.
