Nice town square – very old and used over the decades/centuries as a community gathering spot. the courthouse is on on corner across from the square and there are some businesses around the square. Some notables visible from the square include a UPS station that used to be a filling station, a building facade that now hides a parking lot. Then you look down the old main street and see many older buildings with the Braunfels theater sitting down the end of the main street. Not to be missed (and we didn’t) is the Naeglin Bakery – just off the town square – it is said to be the oldest bakery in Texas.
