These ruins sit in the ghost town of Stiles, Texas.  Until 1999, it was a complete retired courthouse with roof.  But in that year an arsonist, who had tired it before, succeeded in burning the old courthouse.  I found the setting to be haunting.  It’s very quiet and only an RV park nearby to break the spell.  The road to the ruins is quite rough, so take care.  It’s difficult to imagine that back in the early 1900’s, this was a bustling center of county business.  The courthouse was built in 1911, but the county seat was moved to Big Lake in 1925.
