Bath

I was pretty excited about the chance to see this much visited city. The city is very much of Jane Austen’s period – which I believe is Regency. But the city goes WAY back as is easily noted by the Roman Baths. The Abbey was saved from the Dissolution and great destruction brought on by Oliver Cromwell’s forces. The Abbey was abandoned and fell into ruin. Later, Queen Elizabeth led the effort to restore Bath Abbey – which is what you now see when visiting Bath. Looking everywhere, you see reminders of the 1700 and early 1800’s.
