Eugene Heiner – many buildings lost to ‘progress’, standing – Brazoria (now the county museum) – Lavaca, Wharton, Colorado (minus the original tower), and Runnels. Japser County has seen many changes since first designed by Heiner. more info here
James Reily Gordon – Standing – Bexar, Comal, Ellis, Erath, Fayette, Gonzales, the stunning Harrison courthouse, Hopkins, Lee, the majestic McLennan Courthouse, Wise, and Victoria county courthouses. More info Here
Henry T. Phelps = Standing Courthouses – Atascosa, Blanco, Brown, Dimmit, Frio, Jim Hogg, Kenedy, Kimble, LaSalle, Mills, San Patricio, Schleicher, Willacy & Uvalde counties. Terrell courthouse was redesigned so that there’s no resemblance to the original. More info Here

Kaufman County – not one of my favorites. Though, considering your interest in mid-century modern – this courthouse is a decent example. Reminds me somewhat of my elementary school.I certainly don’t mind if you wish to use any of the photos. And feel free to contact me. We have visited all of the 254 courthouses – and there are some mid-century modern. I liked Angelina County for that period – but did not like Nacogdoches (early motel?) or Aransas.
