YouTube Video – Jefferson County Courthouse

We stopped to take in some the courthouses in deep southeast Texas returning from a trip to Florida.  It was a weekend, so we were not able to get into the interior of this stunning beaux arts building.  The detail that’s seen everywhere on the courthouse makes this one of the most notable buildings of the 1930’s.  I found a slideshow on YouTube, and have posted it here so that you can see photos taken by someone other than Clem or me.  It also have more of the interior, which truly follows through on the promised art deco theme the exterior  provides.  This one building may be the best representation of its style among Texas courthouses.
