Impressions/Personal

We were going to Arlington to attend Clem’s niece’s (Kimbie) graduation from UTA.   We took the trailer and decided we would make this a courthouse trip as well.  Our first stop was at Lampasas. A marvelous Victorian piece with a red tower. The style was basically the ever popular 2nd Empire – but simple .  I found it to be clean-lined and neat. Inside, there was a double staircase on one end. In addition, there were some wonderful original artwork discovered on the various safe doors when remodeling was done. I’ve found I enjoy going into the courthouse – often there are details that make that courthouse unique – such as these safe art drawings. Overall, the design, clean lines and setting make this a quintessential courthouse. There will be many more that impress, but this one is a wonderful representative of all that makes Texas courthouses great.
