go to Historic San Patricio Courthouse

Another courthouse by the San Antonio architect – Henry T. Phelps.  We took these photos while on a long weekend trailer trip to Lake Corpus Christi State Park.  Great park – especially if the lake’s full – which isn’t all the time,  believe me.  Before driving into Sinton, we visited San Patricio, Texas – the original county seat of the county.  Some time back, the citizens of San Patricio rebuilt the original courthouse using the orignal plans.

Sinton is a busy town on the coastal plans.  Lots of ranching and rice farming, among other ag activities.  The courthouse was OK, but not memorable.  It sits on a large block of land, but this is along the highway and definitely not a courthouse square.  The style may have had hints of beaux arts, but not to any great extent.
