Every once and awhile, a courthouse sneaks up and surprises you – and this is one of those courthouses. It will probably never make a top 10 list, but is certainly worth a visit. It appears to have been renovated – and the courtroom is indeed the highlight. It is not to be missed. There’s lots of pressed tin here – in the courtroom and the stairwells. I know the styles are different, but this courthouse reminded me of the Henderson County Courthouse in Athens. They both are set on floor plans that have 4 protruding corners. Kind of like 4-pointed stars.  Note, I later found that the courthouse had been renovated the previous year.
