Wood County Courthouse, Texas

County Seat – Quitman
Built – 1925
Architect – C. H. Leinbach
Style – Classical Revival
Date Photographed – 12/11/12

Not an exciting courthouse – and the setting is difficult – being close to the streets. But it is well taken care of – and the court room was a good example of jurist rooms. Highlights that you be able to see in the attached photo slide show include the judge’s bench and the rich wood work in the courtroom, and – the extensive tile and marble/granite walls. Also, when walking through the courtroom, we were entertained by some of the sheriff’s staff who ywere winding up their day.
