Erath County Courthouse

see –  Stephenville

Location – Stephenville
Built – 1892
Architect – J. Riely Gordon
Style – Romanesque Revival
Photos taken – June 20, 2014

Wonderfully old – and well restored – 1890’s Romanesque courthouse.  It’s setting in the town square of the vibrant community of Stephenville is impressive.  The center court is airy – similar to the Caldwell and Victoria county courthouses.  The courtroom is noteworthy for its size and decor.  Did you know that Erath County is the #1 milk producing county in Texas?  I didn’t.
